Get More for your Swing
TPI Golf Fitness Instructors and Personal Trainers Samantha Draper and Bob Sullivan have formed a team to bring you a Golf Fitness and Performance program that will improve your game and make you feel better so that you can fully enjoy the game of golf!
Our program is geared toward enhancing physical performance specific to the game of golf. Designed for the recreational or professional golfer who wants to improve his or her game, our program is designed towards the individual needs and goals of the golfer. We start by using the TPI Functional Movement Screen on each player. By doing so we are able to isolate any physical limitations, correlate these findings to your swing technique and provide a training program to help you reach your full potential.
What is TPI?
TPI Philosophy:
"We don’t believe there is one way to swing a club; we believe there are an infinite number of ways to swing a club. But we do believe that there is one efficient way for everyone to swing a club, and it is based on what they can physically do"
The Titleist Performance Institute program was the accumulation of twelve years of research studying the greatest golfers in the world, seeing how their bodies affect their golf swings. Factors like strength, flexibility, balance, endurance, nutrition, stability, power, vision, and posture all influence the body’s mechanics. The TPI Training and Certification gives us a comprehensive set of tools to perform a full evaluation of your body. We can then match your swing technique with your physical attributes to help you build a more repeatable and efficient golf swing.
Our Golf Fitness and Performance Program is designed to:
Improve the strength and flexibility specific to the golf swing
Increase the individuals awareness of their body position during the golf swing
Improve balance and coordination
Develop increased endurance and overall physical conditioning
Reduce the risk of injury
Through these areas, the ultimate goal for each golfer is to:
Help you swing better
Hit the ball further
Score lower
Play without pain
How will we do this?
Prior to the start of this program each client is asked to complete a TPI Functional Movement Screen to determine areas causing limitations in the golf swing.
The Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Functional Movement Screen involves a detailed analysis of the client’s mobility (flexibility) and stability (strength and balance) as it relates to the movements needed to complete a biomechanically sound golf swing.
Physical limitations cause movement inefficiencies that lead to a loss of power, swing speed and inconsistent ball striking. Poor flexibility can be very detrimental to the development of a repeatable swing that utilizes the body's full potential. If a golfer does not have the proper flexibility/mobility to complete the turn, they will often finish the swing with a bad sway, a serious bend of the lead arm, or other compensatory movements. Improvement of mobility and stability helps prevent injury.
Our training program will integrate flexibility, core strength, balance, and resistance exercise specific to golf. Our program is designed to improve range of motion, stability, and control of all major muscles associated with the golf swing to decrease the risk of injury and improve overall performance.
